How Our Custom Cornhole Boards Are Made in Stanley, Wisconsin

Yard Pride|

From your design to your doorstep: a behind-the-scenes look at how every Yard Pride set is cut, printed, sealed and built by hand in our Wisconsin shop.

When people see a Yard Pride set in person, the first question is usually "how do you get the print that sharp?" The second is "why is it so heavy?" Both answers come from how we build them. Here's a look inside our shop in Stanley, Wisconsin, from the moment your order comes in to the day it ships.

1. Your design and your details

Every set starts with a design. Pick one of our ready-made styles and add your name, initial or date, or send us your own artwork or logo. Want to see it before anything touches wood? Add a digital mockup to your order and we'll send you a preview, so you can check the spelling, the date and the layout. If you skip the mockup, we build your set from the details you enter.

2. Premium 3/4" wood, not MDF

A lot of cheaper sets use thin panels or MDF that warps, bows or chips once it sees a little humidity. We build ours from premium 3/4" thick wood. That thickness is what gives our boards a solid, consistent bounce and is a big part of why they hold up season after season.

3. CNC precision cutting

Each board is CNC machined, so every hole, every edge and every board in your set is cut exactly the same. That precision matters for gameplay. Your boards match each other, and they match regulation size: 2' x 4' with a 6" hole.

4. UV digital printing

This is where the design comes to life. We print every board on a UV flatbed printer, which cures the ink with ultraviolet light the instant it lands on the surface. The result is a crisp, detailed image that's bonded to the board, not a sticker or a wrap that can peel. It's how we get fine wood-grain textures, sharp lettering and deep, saturated color.

Whether it's a wood grain pattern, a patriotic flag or a lake-house anchor with your home port, every set goes through the same printer and the same checks.

5. Multiple coats of clear protection

After printing, each board is sealed with multiple coats of clear protection. That finish protects the design from scuffs and weather, and gives the surface a smooth, consistent slide. It's the difference between a board that looks great on day one and a board that still looks great years from now.

6. Inlaid tops with no visible hardware

Our boards have inlaid tops with no visible nails or screws on the playing surface. That keeps the design clean and uninterrupted, and it means nothing snags a bag or throws off a slide.

7. Bags, packing and shipping

Every regulation 2' x 4' set ships with eight bags in your choice of colors. We pack each set to survive the trip, then ship it free anywhere in the lower 48. Most sets ship in 2 to 7 business days.

Why we do it all in-house

We could outsource parts of this. We don't, because handling the entire process right here in Wisconsin is how we keep quality high and turnaround fast. When one team designs, cuts, prints, seals and packs your set, nothing gets lost in a handoff.

"Came packaged very well! High quality boards, love the handles. Our family will be using these for many years to come!"
